San Francisco Road Trip: Day 2

Hello again!
I forgot to mention in my last post but I am proud to announce that I have been accepted to 4 of the 9 colleges I have applied to so far! Fortunately, I have not been rejected by any colleges so far and I hear from two more colleges tomorrow. I'm crossing my fingers. For those of you who are anxiously waiting for your acceptances, I wish you the best of luck! Anyway, let's continue with the trip.
On Saturday morning, I had a delicious breakfast. The grapefruit was so fresh and the oatmeal was slow cooked, which I delicately drizzled some sliced almonds and granola on top. On the side, I had two sausages. I made sure to eat so that I would not get hungry easily because we planned a hike in Big Basin Redwoods State Park.
The only athletic activity I participate in is in long distance running so hiking is foreign to me. Since I did not know how to dress for a hike, I wore my running shorts and running shoes...It was 46 degrees up there. I was freezing my butt off (But I got used to it eventually). What I learned is that you should always dress warmly in northern California. I only know 70 degree weather, nothing below that. What can I say, I'm spoiled in southern California.
But besides that, let's just gape in awe by how gorgeous Big Basin is.
Trees...
...trees...
...and more trees!
Growing up, I never saw such green trees in my neighborhood or the park for that matter. It is so green in northern California that it almost makes me want to move up here. Walking around, I also encountered a banana slug. 14, to be exact.

It was a 4 hour hike in total. I fell asleep on the car ride back to the hotel. We later stopped by my cousin's house and went to Minh's Vietnamese Restaurant with her husband and three kids (Who are insanely adorable!!). We ate escargot, banh tom, and pho. The pho wasn't that special in my opinion but then again the restaurant isn't known for its pho.
I fell asleep well that night and looked forward to the next day.
And that concludes day 2! I hope you enjoyed reading this and I will see you all very soon with day 3!
