REVIEW: ALDO Holta Boots

For the longest time, I've been craving a good pair of leather boots. Going around in a pair of sneakers every day can be a bit dull so wearing a pair of boots can really spice it up. And since we are in the colder months right now, I think it is important to have a pair of boots on hand. There are definitely a staple to have. However, I have a love and hate relationship with them. Being only 5'0 (and a quarter inch), I avoid knee or thigh high boots. Anything above the calf seems to swallow me so I lean toward mid-calf boots and booties instead so my legs don't disappear.

Then I saw them.
Aren't they pretty? These are my favorite shoes by far and I find any excuse to wear these out.
These Holta boots are made with 100% leather and rubber soles. At the tip and the back, there is a gradient effect between black and a gorgeous brown. For an added bonus for the shorter ladies out there, there's a thick heel for some extra height. I was a bit intimidated by the heel when I first saw them though because let's be honest, high schoolers don't walk around in heels a lot. They can be inconvenient when trying to get around the school so I was a bit concerned about wearing them. If you are worried about wearing heels, have no fear. I am completely comfortable with these and can even run in them (I don't advise it though; I think you could potentially break a heel if you did.).
PRICE: 4.5/5
These are a bit pricey but worth the extra investment. Real leather lasts very long so if you plan on wearing a type of boot for a long time, look for authentic leather. The original price is $130 but on Black Friday, I was able to get it for about $60. Right now, it is currently $44.99. For a high schooler with no official job, the price made me cringe a bit but on sale, I think the price is very fair.

COMFORT: 4.75/5
Being a heel amateur, wearing these for the first time for 6 hours straight was a nightmare. My feet ached and I was beyond tired since my classes are on opposite sides of the school. This went on for a few days. Eventually, my shoes molded to my feet and now my feet love them. So far, I love strutting in these. I put 4.75/5 because I am not familiar with heels but for those who are used to them, this is definitely a 5/5. The heel is very sturdy and stable so you never have to worry about tipping over.

SIZE: 5/5
It fits my feet like a glove. Keep in mind that when you buy it, be prepared to buy a pair a bit smaller than your usual size. I went down half a size (from a 7 to a 6.5).

DESIGN: 5/5
I adore the design. Like I said earlier, the color is so warm and absolutely gorgeous. The laces, the gradient effects, the heel, I love it all. The zipper is fake though! Do not unzip it, expecting to put on your boots like that. It's lace up, the good old fashioned way. I advise purchasing some polish if you haven't already and polishing it every now and then so they don't lose their shine.

 OVERALL: 4.8/5
This was definitely worth the wait. After months of searching, I'm glad I did not settle for less. To those who are a bit on the short side, this is perfect for you since it does not shrink your legs and it has a little bit of height. There's something about these shoes that make me feel more confident in my stride, so if you have time, do get a chance to try a pair of these on.

I hope you found this review helpful!
